About the Owners

Jose Rivera and Betzy Alvalle purchased what is now known as Betzy Village as their dream retirement retreat after years of hard work. They spent much of their lives running a beloved restaurant, El Rincón Borinqueño, in Juana Díaz, Puerto Rico. After many years of dedication to their business, they sold it and retired to Cabo Rojo, a place they both cherished.

Betzy took great pride in curating the charm of Betzy Village, creating a beautiful landscape filled with flowers and adding her personal touch to every corner of the home. Her vision turned the property into a special haven of peace and beauty.

Tragically, Betzy was diagnosed with cancer, and after a courageous battle, she passed away on June 5, 2023. Though she is no longer with us, her love and influence are woven into every part of Betzy Village. Her memory continues to inspire those who visit.

Jose remains dedicated to preserving and honoring the space that Betzy so lovingly created. He now shares Betzy Village with families from around the world, inviting them to experience the love, serenity, and warmth that has touched everyone who steps through its doors.
